About the Registry
The Medical City Endocrine Diseases Registry
Purpose
The Medical City Endocrine Diseases Registry is designed to systematically track, monitor, and analyze the clinical data of patients diagnosed with endocrine diseases, diabetes and thyroid disorders.
Endocrine disorders are often complex and require long-term monitoring. This initiative, developed specifically for The Medical City, addresses the need for a structured, longitudinal dataset that enables clinicians and researchers at The Medical City to study prevalence, treatment outcomes, and disease progression within our patient population.
The Registry serves as a vital resource for improving clinical care pathways and fostering internal research excellence at The Medical City.
Methodology
Data is collected prospectively by treating physicians at The Medical City through a secure, web-based platform. Each patient enrollment requires informed consent in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012) and the Health Privacy Code (JAO 2016-0002).
Clinical data is organized across 12 standardized domains:
- 01Demographics & Patient History
- 02Primary Diagnosis (ICD-10)
- 03Diagnostic Classifications
- 04Imaging Studies (MRI, CT, Ultrasound)
- 05Clinical Staging & Grading
- 06Surgical & Procedural Records
- 07Pathology & Histology
- 08Laboratory Results (HbA1c, Thyroid Panel, etc.)
- 09Medical & Pharmacological Treatments
- 10Complication Tracking
- 11Hormone & Metabolic Monitoring
- 12Quality of Life (QoL) Assessments
Diagnosis coding follows ICD-10 standards. Tumor classification uses the WHO 2022 PitNET taxonomy. Laboratory values are mapped to LOINC codes for interoperability.
Project Scope
The registry is exclusively operated within The Medical City, a tertiary hospital in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It supports the multidisciplinary endocrine team spanning endocrinology, surgery, ophthalmology, pathology, and metabolic health specialists.
Statistics and aggregated data generated by the registry represent the clinical experience and patient outcomes specifically of The Medical City.
Project Origin & Affiliation
This registry is a specialized technical initiative developed specifically for The Medical City. It serves the Section of Endocrinologyas a dedicated tool for institutional data management and clinical research.
While it follows international standards and allows for collaboration with local societies like the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PSEDM), the platform is designed primarily as an internal institutional resource to support the specific needs of The Medical City.
